A Non-Profit Organization, looking towards the future, serving its members, community and those in need for the benefit of all mankind...
The Odd Fellows Viola Lodge #259 of Cadillac Michigan was chartered in the latter half of the nineteenth century (February 1876). Originally housed in a building on what was labeled the Odd Fellows block on the south east corner of Mitchell and M-55 until after the turn of the century. In 1915 the lodge moved to its current location in the newly dedicated building on the corner of Mitchell and East Pine.
The Loyal Order of Odd Fellows started in 17th century England, it was odd to find people organized for the purpose of giving aid to those in need and of pursuing projects for the benefit of all mankind. Those who belonged to such an organization were called "Odd Fellows". Odd Fellows are also known as "The Three Link Fraternity" which stands for Friendship, Love and Truth.
Friendship, Love and Truth have been the mainstays throughout the history of the Odd Fellows and remain the foundation for what the modern day Odd Fellows are all about.
The Cadillac lodge is currently striving to rebuild itself and its membership. At the same time it is still doing all it can to giving aid to those in need. One of the achievements the Odd Fellows are proud to be able to do is send underprivledged youth to the Odd Fellow & Rebekah youth camp.
